Sonic Sermons From The Preacher’s Pulpit

Chris O’Connor is one of the founder members of Voodoo Radio. Known far and wide as ‘The Rock ‘n’ Roll Preacher’ (or when he’s a bad boy ‘Satanic Muttley’). He was also an original member of other radio stations, including ARfm, Rock247online and Nusakan, and has DJ’d for Firebrand radio too. He now presents a show on CMRS radio as well.

Chris has a long background in both the rock and punk music scenes, he’s written for Hard Roxx, Powerplay, Zero-Tolerance, Burn magazines. These days he writes reviews for Voodoo, also for Fireworks Rock & Metal magazine, and for www.rockposer.com – he’s also written liner notes for several CD releases. As of this year, he acts as PR and management for artists he wholeheartedly believes in.

Chris has managed bands, toured managed others, and has staged managed and has been the Master of Ceremonies at various festivals (including the main stage at ‘Bloodstock’ and the ‘3 Chords’ punk festival), and has organised gigs and festivals around the midlands. You could say he lives for music.

Chris is a screwed, blued, and tattooed Pagan. He now lives by the sea, not too far from his beloved daughters, and surrounded by his rescue dogs. He has a love for classic cars,  guitars, drums, photography, astronomy, and is a self-confessed ‘nerd/geek’ – he even has a selection of full-size Daleks & Cybermen from the Dr. Who TV series, amongst other collectibles. Chris is also an actual ordained Minister.

On Voodoo Radio, Chris presents his ‘Sonic Sermons From The Preacher’s Pulpit’ show on Fridays at 6pm. It is a two hour show, and usually highlights his love of AOR/Melodic Rock/Pomp Rock, Progressive Rock/Blues Rock, Southern Rock, Rebel Country, Hard Rock, & Funk Rock. Amongst his favourite artists are Rush, Marillion, The Cure, Judie Tzuke, Ian Hunter, Melissa Etheridge, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Timson AOR, David Mark Pearce, Symphony Of Pain, Hawkwind, Motorhead, Ozric Tentacles, Sky, Threshold, Parliament, Funkadelic, Mother’s Finest, Journey, Boston, Toto, & The B-52’s.
