Guido McFister

Originally from the North of Ireland, Guido played in punk bands covering four decades: Subversive Reaction, SAS, Voice of Reason, Deaf Offenders and most notably London Irish folk punks Neck (touring all over the UK & Europe along with festivals and east coast tours of the USA, even taking in Moscow). Playing everything from tiny squat gigs to 10,000 capacity festivals.

Guido started DJing in ’91 running 2 alternative club nights in Basildon, Essex (the first time he ever touched DJ’ing ‘decks’ was night of first gig!). DJing had to take a back seat while in Neck but he continued to make guest spots at various after-show parties for likes of Sex Pistols, Levellers and Carter USM.

In 2011 he discovered TBFM and after a year or so of being a regular in the chatroom got his own show on TBFM which evolved into what we have today – a show highlighting the new, upcoming, and underground punk of today. Expect anything and everything covering all genres from Spoken Word and Acoustic, through Ska, Reggae, Dub and Folk through to Hardcore, Crust and Anarcho.

Guido knows that Punk is an attitude, a way of life, a way of thinking not a fashion, or a particular style of music!

Over the years he has also been a band manager, promoter, stage manager, and a stage host.  Currently he’s part of the team that puts on Breaking Bands Festival and still occasionally puts on benefit gigs.

One of the founder members of Voodoo Radio, sometimes anti-social, always anti-fascist! He’s the one and only Guido McFister.
